Job Description

Responsibilities :

• Manage tax operations of Applied Materials entities in Singapore.

This includes tax provision, tax reporting and tax compliance, and covers corporate income tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax, GST, etc. This will involve extracting reports from accounting system (SAP), compiling, analyzing and reconciling the numbers from different sources. It also requires working closely with Finance team as well as coordination with external outsourced vendors and tax advisors.

• Assist in managing compliance of existing tax incentive, and analysis and application of new tax incentive.
• Assist in managing tax audits and examinations by the taxing authorities.
• Assist in tax advisory and planning work - Provide clear and practical tax guidance and solution on financial and operational issues, make recommendation and implement improvement to tax compliance and reporting processes (including automation), monitor tax developments/legislation changes, etc.

Experience:

• At least 8 years of tax experience from working in International Accounting Firm or corporate tax function in large multinational corporation.
• Working knowledge of tax compliance for incentivized company a plus.
• Working knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP system a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

Education: Recognized degree in Accountancy, Taxation, ACCA, or equivalent. Required Skills:

• Possess technical accounting capability, including performing of reconciliation.
• Self-starter who is positive, organized, hands-on, meticulous and resourceful.
• Able to work independently and as a team player under time pressure.
• Able to prioritize and multi-task projects and handle diverse issues in a complex environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good presentation skills with proven ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to non-tax audiences.
