The Tea Sommelier is concerned with the efficient and professional service of food and beverages, while ensuring guests receive optimum service in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of the Conrad hotel and Hilton Group.

What will I be doing?

As the Tea Sommelier, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Manage and curate the tea selection.
• Create unique tea blends and recipes that complement food pairings.
• Promote tea culture and educate customers and colleagues.
• To develop and manage a rigorous training program to ensure world-standard staff knowledge of teas, tea service, and hospitality.
• To communicate with other departments to ensure a supporting team of professionals.
• The ability to communicate with the Chef to discuss menus, marketing strategies and guest comments and concerns.
• To plan and organize resources needed for operation, and assist in the operations, to ensure that guest satisfaction is monitored and where appropriate, rectified throughout their meal experience.
• To ensure guest needs and guest expectations are met by providing an efficient and professional service.
• To attend and participate in all required meetings.
• To actively manage tea service to ensure quick ticket times, seamless guest experience.
• To actively study to stay on top of tea practices in order to ensure the Summer Palace tea program is respected as a world-class program.
• Responsible for developing and managing exciting 12-month program of educational and other guest events.
• To actively manage beverage inventory levels, procurement, and par stocks to conserve the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s capital and to deliver an uninterrupted guest experience.
• To liaise with suppliers and vendors to get the best products at the best possible rate.

What are we looking for?

A Tea Sommelier serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

• Motivated and committed, approaching all tasks with enthusiasm and seize opportunities to learn new skills or knowledge in order to improve personal performance.
• Flexible and responds quickly and positively to changing requirements including the performance of any tasks requested of you.
• Maintain high team focus by showing cooperation and support to colleagues in the pursuit of team goals.
• Minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in similar position, preferably in a successful F&B outlet with a tea programme.
• Strong knowledge of tea production, types, and regions.
• Good English skills, both written and verbal to meet business needs.
• Strong leadership and training skills.
• Outgoing personality and willing to work for long hours.
• Thorough knowledge of tea, tea trends, service, cost control in F&B, menu writing, maintenance, merchandising and accounting.
