1) Provide in-class support and monitoring
The Special Needs Teacher Assistant (SNTA) will provide support to selected students with diagnosed or suspected special needs (SN) in the classroom setting. He/she will observe and work with specific students in the class to follow teacher instructions, stay on task, work completion, engage in positive behaviours, participate in classroom activitives and to ensure safety as well as a conducive learning environment for the students and others. He/she is required to monitor their progress in their learning or behaviours depending on the targeted skill to be taught to the student with SN.
2) Support students with diagnosed or suspected SN during school events and learning journeys
Together with the form teachers or subject teachers, the SNTA will support the students with SN during or after school events such as Learning Journeys, school camps, sports events, after-school programmes and other co-curricular activities.
3) Intervention work (group or individual)
The SNTA will work with students with SN on their specific learning needs outside of class setting. These learning needscan include reading fluency, receptive and expressive language, positive behaviour manangement, communication skills, self-management, self-control, study skills and/or strategies to focus on their strengths and learning.
1) Collaborate with school staff
SNTA will work closely with SEN Officer, SDT, form teachers and subject teachers to monitor and gather feedback and information on students with diagnosed or suspected SN or those showing at-risk behaviours.
2) Documentation of support and other administrative work
He/She will be required to document his/her work with these students, prepare SN teaching and learning resources, assist with any work-related administrative duties. He/she will also be required to attend case-related and school-wide meetings within the working hours.
3) Support school administration team (SAT)
He/She will be required to support the SAT in any administrative-related work during the school holidays.
Monday to Friday : 7.00 AM to 4.00 PM
Salary Range
$2,200 - $2,300
