They will also possess a range of strategies to build effective and engaging working relationships with students and colleagues. Our teachers actively promote the College's Mission, Educational Goal, Values and Learning Principles through their supportive engagement with students, colleagues and parents. They actively participate in all five elements of the UWCSEA learning programme: Academics Activities Outdoor Education Personal and Social Education and Service. On average the College expects a yearly contribution of two sessions per week in each season to Activities and/or Service and, on occasion, volunteering for holiday Outdoor Education trips. The candidate will join a vibrant and successful K12 PE Department with regular events taking place throughout the year. Main Responsibilities Plan, teach and assess through engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote agentic learning and the holistic development of each child Construct learning experiences that challenge students, support the diversity of learners in each classroom and demonstrate a strong commitment to concept-based teaching and learning. Plan and implement a PE and swimming programme that supports and encourages the development and growth of the learner's skills, knowledge and understanding of health, physical well-being and game play ensuring attention is given to appropriate differentiation. Employ a wide variety of learning and teaching strategies including the use of new technologies to make learning both effective and enjoyable. Maintain student records as required assess, observe, record and report on student progress. Work in partnership with the Head of PS PE and Head of Grades, by taking an active role in coordinating events for Primary students for example, Learning Shares. Enthusiastically participate in professional learning, engaging with pedagogies appropriate to PE. Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents, to build strong relationships with all members of the school community. Attend educational visits residential and day trips as required. Assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs as may be reasonably requested by the Principal. Person Specifications A relevant degree in Primary Education from an accredited institution A recognised professional teaching qualification or certification in Physical Education and swimming. A minimum of 3 - 5 years, Primary PE teaching experience, preferably in international schools (4-11 year olds). Relevant qualification and experience teaching younger children and advantage. A committed and creative practitioner, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to raise achievement. A passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child. A willingness to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, enthusiastic participation in and delivery of Professional Learning is expected. Evidence of regular and recent professional learning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and spoken. The language of the workplace and the language of instruction is English.
