About the Course

Vertical Institute's Data Analytics Course provides learners with core skills in Excel, SQL, and Tableau, enabling them to analyze data, extract insights, and present findings effectively. The program emphasizes practical, hands-on experience with real-world datasets and business scenarios, preparing professionals to make informed, data-driven decisions. Classes are delivered live during weekday evenings or weekends by a lead instructor, with support from a teaching assistant.

Role Overview

As a Teaching Assistant, you will help ensure a smooth and engaging learning experience by supporting live instruction, assisting learners during hands-on labs, guiding them through analytics tools, and providing ongoing support both during and outside of class sessions.

Key Responsibilities

Support instructors during live Zoom sessions, including managing breakout rooms, moderating chat, and delivering live demonstrations Assist learners with hands-on exercises and labs across key modules, including data cleaning and analysis in Excel, writing and optimizing SQL queries, and creating dashboards and visualizations in Tableau Respond to learner questions via the Telegram community and e-learning platform, providing technical and conceptual guidance Track and record attendance in compliance with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) requirements Share learner feedback and insights with the curriculum team to improve course content and delivery

Qualifications and Skills

Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Tableau, with the ability to guide learners through data analysis and visualization workflows Strong understanding of data cleaning, querying, reporting, and visualization techniques Ability to explain data analytics concepts clearly to beginner learners Comfortable facilitating online classes via Zoom with a reliable home setup (camera, microphone, stable internet) Previous teaching, mentoring, or teaching assistant experience is a strong advantage
