The Opportunity This is for a large Banking project wherein the scope is primarily patching the environment end to end from Hardware to select applications. The Team Lead should have indepth knowledge and experience to be able to lead at least one of the streams of patch management. The complete exercise is expected to be automated. While tools will be built and implemented, any experience in large automated Patch Management solutions will be a plus.
Lead, review, schedule and oversee Patch Management process, procedures and activities
Work with the Infrastructure team, application teams to coordinate and schedule patch management activities
Initiate Request for Change, document a detailed Change Implementation Plan, Rollback plan, perform peer reviews and provide assistance in getting approvals from all relevant stakeholders to progress the change
Lead a team of patchers, ensuring efficient and secure deployment of updates
Coordinate with IT departments to schedule patching activities during optimal times
Maintain a deep understanding of OS platforms (Linux, Windows, Solaris, AIX), hypervisors (VMware), infra apps (C itrix, Exchange), or middleware, databases, and/or applications (Oracle, MS SQL, MariaDB, JBOSS, Websphere, Web Logic, Connect Direct, MQ)
Manage networking components including Cisco, Checkpoint, F5 Load Balancers, and Fortinet
Develop and implement strategies for minimizing downtime and ensuring continuity of operations
Provide cross-training to team members to enhance versatility and knowledge sharing
Perform post change review after implementation of patches and incorporate learnings into our existing processes
Document all procedures implemented by the team for future reference
Track all issues as Knowledge articles, record and track all changes using the Change Management process
Generate reports for customers on system inventory, software inventory, status of patching etc. and create weekly dashboard
Update CMDB post any major changes that warrants a CMDB update
Your Background
Proven experience in IT infrastructure and patch management
Strong leadership skills and experience managing technical teams
Expertise in network infrastructure including Cisco, Checkpoint, F5 Load Balancers, and Fortinet
Certifications in relevant technologies are a plus
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Availability to work on weekends as required
