Essential Duties

Responsibilities:

To ensure the availability of the IT infrastructure and network communications and services. Work with global on network capacity planning & expansion, to maintain reasonable bandwidth, install and configure network equipment. Monitor network traffic for potential bottleneck and co-ordinate with supplier on the maintenance & repair of the network equipment. Maintain & support all LAN/ WAN related equipment (eg. switches, routers etc) and all communication connections (ISDN, Leased line). Protect network and server from unauthorized access and safeguard of information.

To streamline the processes for ease of IT operation & management. Benchmarking against industry standards & best practices. Acquire wide knowledge of products to be able to propose effective solutions that will help the company to reduce the overall cost of operation. Determine the preventive maintenance process and configure & administer of servers used in the plant. Ensure proper procedure for asset management as well as reviewing & refining the process when necessary.

To provide computer resource & operation support to the users. Provide expertise on the usage and implementation of IT technology and manage software and manual inventory. Manage computer equipment inventory, eg. Printers, PC & miscellaneous. Develop procedure and guidance for junior staff and provide user taining. Support Application Team for application deployment. Evaluate Emerging Technology & tools and recommend appropriate solutions to enhance Plant\xe2\x80\x99s competitiveness or meet business requirements. Make recommendations on type of hardware & software to purchase to align to Corporate standard. Ensure hardware & software are aligned with global standards & directions.

To minimize business losses or loss of unproductive hours due to failure in the IT infrastructure. To ensure that the contingency plan is in place during unexpected failure. To formulate the disaster recovery plan for servers including alternate site or machine redundancy. Perform disaster recovery drill or tests as appropriate.

To ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, corporate & local IT policies and procedures. Understand and comply with Spec, SOPs and Policies. Regular review of Specs, SOPs & Policies & assist in development of Policies, SOPs & procedures. Understand licensing requirements for different software & ensure no infringement of copyright act.

Responsible for compliance to EHS procedure and requirement.

Qualifications/ Education:

• Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, IT or Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• MCP Certification
• CCNA & CISSP Certification an advantage

Skill Set and/or Experience:

• Diploma with Min 3 years or
• Degree with Min 3 years of related experience in Network Infrastructure & Telecommunication
• [For Senior position] Degree with Min 8 years / Diploma with Min 10 years of relevant experience in in Network Infrastructure & Telecommunication
• Experience with Network Operating Systems & components, Telecommunications and server management
• Good Understanding of Current Emerging Technologies
• Experience in computer & network validation is an advantage
