Role IFPI is looking to train and develop a technically astute individual, to train and develop into an expert in internet-based content investigation and protection work. The work will focus on, but not be limited to, the Southeast Asia region. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Content Protection Officer, based in Singapore, and will be part of the broader global team dedicated to safeguarding and enforcing the rights of IFPI\xe2\x80\x99s member record companies. It also entails working closely with other teams and departments within the organisation, including Legal, Investigations and Development. General Responsibilities The successful candidate will monitor, investigate, report and take action against copyright infringement occurring online. This work includes the following:
Investigative work (OSINT) on web-based as well as mobile application-based activities.
Data gathering and analysis, and preparation of technical reports and functionality summaries on copyright infringing activities, services and operators.
Specific work includes the following:
o Implement and improve notice and action procedure and related operational issues, including automation of operational tasks. o Monitor piracy trends and produce piracy landscape reports. o Evidence collection to support disruptive, administrative, civil, and criminal action.
Process confidential data and information according to guidelines.
Written and oral presentations concerning technical analysis.
Provide support, as instructed, to IFPI\xe2\x80\x99s global Content Protection and Enforcement team, law enforcement agencies, national groups, and member companies in the Asia region.
Requirements The successful candidate must have:
A degree in a computing discipline and/or relevant technical certification(s).
Proficient knowledge of:
Internet-based protocols such as HTTP, FTP, P2P and TCP/IP.
Internet-based markup languages such as HTML and JSON.
Common programming language(s) such as Python, JavaScript and SQL
Network infrastructure and communication
Mobile application infrastructure
A keen eye for detail, with the ability to make connections and well-supported assessments in the course of investigation
A problem-solving mindset.
The ability to learn quickly.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
An ability to produce clear and succinct technical reports and investigative documents.
Preferable
Experience in content protection and enforcement work in any creative industry.
Awareness of basic copyright law.
Experience in internet-based investigations (i.e., Open Source / Human Source Intelligence), with a strong understanding of best-practice digital-evidence collection.
Experience in mobile device and/or cyber forensics
Familiarity with Linux / CLI, web-scraping technology and link-analysis.
Experience extracting meaningful data from large data sets.
Experience working within or with law enforcement authorities.
Business level fluency in one or more Asian languages.
Keen interest in emerging technologies, social media, gaming, and the music industry.
