JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Director has overall responsibility for Jabil\'s technical and R&D direction (encompassing hardware, firmware, software and services). The Technical Director coordinates and manages all staff in the Solutions Team in order to define and execute a strategy to ensure that Jabil continues to provide world\xe2\x80\x91class solutions across all target markets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
\xc2\xb7 Contribute to the development of the high\xe2\x80\x91level long\xe2\x80\x91term business strategy (along with the Managing Director and other Directors).
\xc2\xb7 Maintain the solutions aspects of the business in alignment with the Managing Directors vision and the Managing Directors strategic leadership.
\xc2\xb7 Develop and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap for the business.
\xc2\xb7 Develop and implement a strategy in order to ensure that Jabil provides solutions which outperform competitors\xe2\x80\x99 solutions across all target markets on the bases of cost, functionality and support.
\xc2\xb7 Develop and maintain close relationships with existing and potential third\xe2\x80\x91party suppliers of hardware and software solutions.
\xc2\xb7 Maintain an awareness of the evolving marketplace including new technologies that could be beneficial to integrate into Jabil\xe2\x80\x99s solution suite.
\xc2\xb7 Keep the Managing Director (and other Directors) abreast of technical and R&D direction, including strategies and challenges.
\xc2\xb7 Actively manage and coordinate the execution of the technical and R&D direction in the Solutions Team, including the evolution of existing solutions and the development of new solutions.
\xc2\xb7 Develop a broad and deep knowledge of all projects underway within the business.
\xc2\xb7 Work closely with the Operations Team and Sales Team in order to support their efforts.
\xc2\xb7 Proactively manage problems which may arise in achieving the technical and R&D strategy of the business.
\xc2\xb7 Act as an agent for change to ensure the ongoing evolution of the business in accordance with both internal and external drivers.
\xc2\xb7 Prepare and submit a quarterly R&D budget, manage effectively within this budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure the continued financial viability of Solutions Team through sound fiscal management.
\xc2\xb7 Coach and mentor all direct\xe2\x80\x91reports to develop high\xe2\x80\x91performance teams.
\xc2\xb7 Provide effective and inspiring leadership.
\xc2\xb7 Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
\xc2\xb7 Strong knowledge of the telecommunications sector, specifically the management of the passive infrastructure associated with telecommunication base stations.
\xc2\xb7 Knowledgeable in the deployment of energy solutions across other sectors, including commercial, retail and industrial.
\xc2\xb7 Track record in senior technical management.
\xc2\xb7 Deep experience in program budgeting and fiscal management.
\xc2\xb7 Track record of effectively managing a complex array of programs, with the ability to leverage synergies across program areas.
\xc2\xb7 Excellent project management skills.
\xc2\xb7 Analytic and decisive decision maker.
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to prioritise and communicate to staff key objectives and tactics necessary to achieve organisational goals.
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to lead organisational transformation projects.
\xc2\xb7 Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive communicator.
\xc2\xb7 Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative approach to technical management.
