Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Deployment

Lead and execute deployment of network switches and routers as part of ELV and IoT-based projects. Configure and optimize switches and routers to support IoT sensor networks, ensuring system resilience and efficient data flow. Perform VLAN setup, IP addressing, routing protocol configuration, network segmentation, and security hardening for all network devices.

Technical Installation & System Integration

Oversee hands-on installation, patching, and commissioning of switches and routers in physical and virtual environments. Integrate network equipment with wireless and wired systems (LoRaWAN, Zigbee, Wi-Fi) and broader building management networks. Conduct connectivity and throughput testing, troubleshooting issues related to switch/router configuration and device interoperability.

Maintenance & Network Optimization

Monitor and maintain switch and router configurations, backup settings, and perform firmware upgrades. Conduct regular network health checks, latency and bandwidth assessments, and implement redundancy measures. Analyze network logs, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure optimal performance across all network segments.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare detailed network diagrams, device configuration documentation, and change logs. Report on network health, configuration changes, and compliance status to stakeholders and project managers.
Requirements

Experience

2-5 years of practical experience configuring and deploying network switches (layer 2/3) and routers in enterprise, construction, or industrial settings. Strong familiarity with setting up physical and logical network topologies, IP planning, VLANs, STP, OSPF/RIP/EIGRP routing, and switch/router security features. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot networking issues, upgrade firmware, and manage network device inventories.

Technical Expertise

Hands-on skills with hardware and software from major vendors (Cisco, HP, Juniper, or equivalent). Understanding of network protocols, wireless and wired integration methods, and remote network management tools. Backup and restore procedures for switches and routers, and implementing network access controls.

Additional Skills

Ability to work with cross-functional technical teams and communicate network requirements clearly. Experience documenting switch/router configurations and creating as-built records.

Pay: $2,179.20 - $3,500.00 per month
