Job Description

What the role is:

The appointee must have good interpersonal skills, willing to learn on the job, equipped with positive thinking so as to handle stress while under pressure, and most importantly, be a team player. Besides undertaking administrative duties to support workshop facilities and maintenance of equipment, the appointee will also be supporting/assisting academic staff in teaching, guiding and supervising student projects whilst ensuring safety regulations are followed. There will also be abundant opportunities to support industry consultancy projects.

Responsibilities:

• To housekeep lab facilities by carrying out regular lab maintenance and ensure the safety of the labs according to safety guidelines.
• Support/Assist/Conduct lab experiments for both PET and CET courses.
• Support/Assist academic staff in teaching, guide students in their project works whilst ensure safety regulations are followed.
• Liaise with vendors, evaluate quotations and make purchases for lab equipment and consumables.

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification in a related discipline with more than 4 years\' hands-on experiences working in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in Precision Manufacturing industry or equivalent experiences in the following are required.
• Good handling proficiency of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T).
• Disciplined and proficient with CNC Turning and Milling / Conventional Turning and Milling.

Successful applicant will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
