Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations and maintenance of the workshop(s) assigned and ensure its optimal functionality.
  • Supervise students\xe2\x80\x99 projects, provide technical supervision and guidance to students on the production of scaled and full-scaled prototypes, and on the usage of Ceramics Workshop(s), which includes mixing glaze and clay, glaze testing, operation of kilns, clay rapid prototyping, construction of plaster mould, slip casting etc.
  • Prepare materials and provide technical assistance/consultation with students on planning, testing, materials usage, constructing and making artwork of their projects with the different machines.
  • Conduct induction classes on safe operations of workshop machinery and proper workshop regulations (attire, conduct, etc.)
  • Maintain storage of chemicals and raw ingredients safely, upkeep facilities and equipment inventory, and monitor usage and loan of equipment to users.
  • Ensure users adhere strictly to rules and regulations pertaining to the use of facilities.
  • Planning and forecasting budgeting for the workshop and the school.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required.


Requirements
  • Minimum qualification of diploma in related discipline with minimum 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Must be workshop-trained and possess strong ceramics skills and knowledge in 3-dimensional practices
  • Good working knowledge of materials such as ceramics and manufacturing techniques
  • Proficient with administrative software skills in Microsoft Words / Excel and Powerpoint, and proficient in Rhinoceros, ZBrush, Blender, and Illustrator is a plus
  • A strong team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and guide students
