- Technical Support Officer
Contract Period:
16 January 2026 to 15 January 2027
1. Working Hours
Personnel shall be deployed during the following hours:
Mondays to Thursdays: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (inclusive of 30-minute lunch break)
Fridays: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm (inclusive of 30-minute lunch break)
Service not required on Saturdays and Sundays, except by special arrangement with off-in-lieu provision
Service not required on gazetted public holidays
2. Scope of Services
The Technical Support Officer will support the Art and Music Units in operational, technical, logistical, and administrative functions.
The duties include, but are not limited to:
A. ART UNIT
Main Duties
Assist with acquisition of art materials, including receiving goods, processing delivery orders, sorting, and storage of purchases.
Handle administrative processing for condemnation and disposal of obsolete or damaged items.
Manage the maintenance and upkeep of all Art Block facilities and resources, including:
6 Art Rooms
Kiln Room
Woodwork Room
Darkroom
Other related areas
Art equipment and assets (e.g., Drill Press, Band Saw, 3D Printers)
Supervise students in the absence of teaching staff and assist in invigilation of tests and internal examinations.
Support administration of attendance and records for Sec 1-4 AEP Centre students, and liaise with sending schools and parents on results and administrative updates.
Oversee security of Art Rooms by monitoring CCTV data and ensuring all rooms are locked at 6 pm.
Provide logistical support for departmental events, competitions, and art exhibitions (e.g., SYF Art Festival, 2026 Art Festival).
Assist in photo documentation of students' work processes for Teaching & Learning review.
Oversee repair, renovation, or upgrading works related to Art facilities (e.g., Art Gallery renovation).
B. MUSIC UNIT
Main Duties
Assist with acquisition of music materials, instruments, and resources, including receiving goods, processing delivery orders, and storage of purchases.
Support basic repair of instruments and manage procurement-related administrative matters.
Maintain and manage the 5 music-learning rooms, including:
Library management
Cataloguing
Stock-taking of equipment and instruments
Supervise students on occasions when teaching staff are not present.
Oversee security of music rooms through monitoring CCTV data and ensuring rooms are locked by 6 pm during term time.
Assist in lesson set-up (musical instruments, computers, and electronic equipment).
Assist in the setup of video cameras for practical examinations.
3. Qualifications and Skills
Preferably with relevant experience in technical support for Art and/or Music departments
Knowledge of art equipment, musical instruments, and basic repair/maintenance procedures is advantageous
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Able to supervise students responsibly and independently
Organised, proactive, and meticulous in handling resources, equipment, and administrative tasks
Physically fit to support movement of materials, instruments, and equipment where required
Able to work independently and as part of a team
