As a Technician IIl, Production Technical Operations (LS1), you will be responsible for operating automated manufacturing and packaging equipment to produce, package, and sterilize contact lenses in accordance with established procedures. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards, while adhering to GMP, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Data Integrity, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
In this role, a typical day will include:
1. To operate manufacturing equipment to produce and/or package contact lenses.
2. To operate autoclave to sterilize contact lenses.
3. Ensure contact lenses are manufacturing to the best quality level possible.
4. Perform activities in compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices in a controlled and regulated environment.
5. To assist Production Superintendent in ensuring smooth operation in the assigned section of LTs.
6. To ensure compliance Data Integrity such that information is attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original and accurate.
7. To lead a team to perform all production activities at various stages under cleanroom environment and to work as a team with cross-functional team member to achieve production targets in compliance with GMP, quality and safety requirements. Handle production tasks and ensures daily target and highest product quality are achieved.
Major Accountabilities
1. To supervise the operation of 3-5 section of LTs (1 section consisting of 3-4 LTs) including managing 3-5 Team Leads and assume their roles when necessary.
2. To provide administrative and operational support for product quality, productivity and ensure team compliance to training, GxP, HSE and regulatory requirement.
3. To oversee the coordination of manpower allocation, lot change timing, re-sort activity, training activity as assigned by Production Superintendent.
4. To support recovery process of non-routine issues.
5. To lean and provide coaching to Production Operators/ Technicians/ Team Leads.
6. To ensure 5S standard, accuracy and completeness of batch record/documentation at assigned section of LTs.
7. To drive continuous improvement (Kaizen project) in equipment performance.
Note: The following physical activities must also be performed repeatedly throughout the shift:

• Push rolling carts weighing 300KG.
• Perform inspection of lenses under increased lighting and magnification.
• Perform GxP cleaning and production end waste disposal.
• Transfer magazines between transfer carts (3.05KG per magazine, average 100 to 200 magazine per shift)
• Support lot change activities, required to squat down, long-standing posture. (Average 4 lot change per shift)

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or other equivalent engineering disciplines.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in production operations, GMP/GDP-regulated manufacturing, or related industries.
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Experience working in a cleanroom environment is an advantage.
Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work on rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
