The institute operates on a fully integrated open-lab philosophy, with an extensive infrastructure supported by core facilities dedicated to technology such as state-of-the-art light microscopy, nano- and micro- fabrication, and computing.The MBI seeks to recruit a temporary Management Support Officer to support its Wet Lab Core Facility. The selected candidate's responsibilities will include:

• Collecting and sterilizing of biohazard waste
• Replenishing consumables stock and house-keeping of laboratory store, tissue culture facilities, core facilities room and sample preparation room
• Washing of glassware and replenishing glassware in cabinets
• Providing autoclaving services of labware and media to research personnel
• Attending to lab deliveries
• Assisting in lab consumables purchases
• Assisting in laboratory operation activities as and when required
• Assisting in chemical waste collection by hazardous waste collection company
• Preparation of 70% ethanol
• Changing of gas cylinders
• Performing stand-in duties when necessary

This role is offered on a 1- year fixed-term contract basis.Qualifications

• Minimum "N" level
• Able to speak and read English
• Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Excel and Outlook for emails
• Hard working, responsible and proactive
• Willing to undergo mandatory N95 mask fit-testing
• Prior working experience in a biological research laboratory will be an added advantage
