Tenure Track Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Proteomics/Metabolomics (Molecular Mechanisms of Disease)

The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), College of Science (CoS) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore invites highly motivated candidates to apply for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure-track) in mass spectrometry-assisted proteomics and metabolomics.

Requirements

• SBS is seeking a self-driven candidate who is ready to lead his/her own dynamic research team and willing to take risks in defining and addressing important biological problems.
• Candidates should have a proven track record in developing and applying mass spectrometry-based proteomics or metabolomics methods for the study complex biological samples.
• Candidates should have technical experiences with the characterization of metabolites and post-translationally modified peptides, proteome-wide quantification, and bioinformatic analysis of proteomic/metabolomics data.
• Experience and proven track record in the use and development of qualitative and quantitative mass spectrometry strategies as applied to biological systems will be the key attributes of the successful candidate. Prior experience with the analysis and characterization of metabolites in complex biological samples (e.g., tumour tissue, human microbiome) will also be looked upon favourably.
• The candidate is expected to teach proteomics-related courses and assume the role of the director for the core proteomics/mass spectrometry facility of SBS.
• This facility provides services to researchers in SBS and the outside users from the research community in Singapore.
• The services include but not limited to metabolite & protein identification, protein post-translational modification characterization and qualitative and quantitative proteomic analyses.
• The director is expected to work with SBS faculty and students to develop project-specific experimental strategies, offer technical assistance in data analysis and interpretation, and oversee the operation and maintenance of the proteomics facility with the assistance of other staff members.

Qualifications:

• The candidate should have a relevant PhD, preferably in Biology or Chemistry with postdoctoral or other professional experiences in mass spectrometry-assisted proteomics or metabolomics.
