The Role Responsibilities
We are seeking an energetic, talented and motivated individual for the role of Test Engineer on an ongoing Front office green field project. The job entails testing of a Front Office trading application using the modern technology stack and integrating it with the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous testing.

• Perform functional testing and all QA activities for specific testing stream.
• Develop automation test scripts utilizing in-house automation tooling and ensuring high level of automation.
• Be embedded within an agile squad and own all QA specific items and engage with key stakeholders.
• Perform impact analysis, develop functional testing plans and cases.
• Engage with Test Assurance team to ensure the testing artefacts are compliant with the standards defined by them.
• Development of common tools and utilities to extend in-house automation tooling.
• Work closely with the application development and dev-ops to improve performance, scalability, and resiliency of the system.

Our Ideal Candidate

• 6+ years of experience in designing, developing and executing the functional & automated testing scripts for a large scale, high volume, low latency enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding in Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) and related tooling like Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium.
• Strong understanding of programming concepts in Java.
• Good knowledge of QA standards, methodologies and processes.
• Experience working with Banking Front Office applications.
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, continuous integration and performance testing.
• Good understanding on basic Unix commands.
• Good understanding of Rest APIs and Websockets based communication.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Candidate should have ability to learn new techniques and technologies quickly.
• Candidate should possess good analytical skills.

Role Specific Technical Competencies

• Test Automation using Cucumber, Selenium and Java
• Rest API, FIX protocol
• Testing standards, methodologies, tools, and processes
• Asynchronous messaging systems like Kafka, solace, MQ or similar
