Assist the therapists in assessing clients\xe2\x80\x99 status for suitability to start therapy sessions or continue with therapy sessions.
Prepare clients, materials, and equipment for assessments or therapy sessions.
Assist therapists in carrying out treatment plans.
Perform therapy procedures according to protocols as instructed by the therapists.
Perform an assessment of the outcome measures under the supervision of a therapist/associate.
Measure, supply, and/or apply therapeutic aids (e.g. knee gaiter) or assistive devices of clients under the instruction of the therapist.
Assist therapists in documenting therapy sessions according to template sets.
Inform, alert, and/or provide input to therapists regarding clients\xe2\x80\x99 concerns, complaints progress, or problems encountered during their therapy interaction with clients.
Conduct basic or routine group therapy/rehab programs.
Educate clients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions and/or the use of therapeutic aids or assistive devices as instructed or prescribed by therapists.
Ensure clients\xe2\x80\x99 safety at all times.
Report and escalate risks, issues, near misses, and complaints to reporting officer or center in charge.
Follow service standards and clinical protocol.
Adhere to infection control procedures.
Other administrative/non-clinical duties
Assist the therapist in audit preparation.
Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of therapy areas and/or shared areas of work with other healthcare staff.
Perform routine checks and disinfect equipment such as wheelchairs and rehab equipment.
Maintain the inventories and equipment used by the department in all therapy areas.
Update the records and essential documents in the department.
Assist peers in other areas of work when required or requested.
Assist in quality improvement initiatives, and attend department meetings and activities.
Take responsibility for own professional development and participate in the department\xe2\x80\x99s training program and external courses.
Orient and teach volunteers, new therapy assistants & care staff as required.
Foster open communication between peers, supervisors, and all members of AHCOE and other departments such as nurses, and operations for better understanding and professional relationships.
Present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively in a team, and group setting or to the clients.
Act in accordance with the professional code of ethics, policies, and procedures of the organization and all laws and regulations.
Exercise work accountability by honoring work commitments and accepting of consequences of your own decisions and actions.
Contribute actively and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team or project.
Qualifications:
WSD in Rehabilitation Care
WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Therapy Support)
Able to converse well in spoken and written English
Proficient in Google Workspace and able to do data entry/ record keeping

Female therapy assistant to provide a chaperone to the male therapist during treatment of female client as required
