Job Description

The Therapy Assistant is to provide assistance to therapists in clinical, administrative and technical duties and to assist in the supervision of healthcare attendants. The Challenges

• Assist the therapist in setting up patients on therapeutic equipment.
• Assist the therapist in setting up / supervising / assisting patients in the performance of therapeutic activities / exercises.
• Assist the therapist in the fabrication of orthosis / devices necessary for rehabilitation.
• Sewing custom made pressure garments for patients based on measurements provided by therapist. This involves calculations from measurements and drafting out patterns for sewing.
• Alterations and modifications to pressure garments.
• Prepare / retrieve / file patient records.
• Tidy therapy area and assist with cleaning duties.
• Co-ordinate portering of patients to and from the department for therapy in the area of work, and porter patients if necessary.
• Handle enquiries, answer phone calls, record and convey messages.
• Assist in setting up inventory list of equipment / supplies / forms.
• Perform inventory checks of equipment / supplies / forms.
• Perform photocopying, binding, filing and distribution of documents and forms.
• Perform basic data entry and data retrieval using relevant computer programmes.
• Maintain therapeutic equipment and devices.

Job Requirements

• Minimum GCE \xe2\x80\x98O\xe2\x80\x99 level preferred
• Service oriented and customer focused
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good team player
• Basic computer skills in Word and Excel
• 1-year renewable contract
