Job Description
Tile Setter -
A Tile Setter is responsible for installing tiles made of materials such as ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite, or stone on floors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces. The work includes surface preparation, tile layout, cutting, and finishing to achieve a clean and durable installation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and clean surfaces before tiling (e.g., leveling, applying waterproofing, or adhesives). Measure and mark surfaces to plan tile layout. Cut tiles to fit corners, edges, and around obstacles using hand and power tools. Mix and apply mortar, adhesives, or grout to secure tiles in place. Ensure proper tile alignment and spacing using spacers and levels. Clean excess grout and polish finished surfaces. Repair or replace broken or damaged tiles when required. Follow safety regulations and maintain a tidy work area.
Skills and Requirements:
Knowledge of different tile materials and installation techniques. Ability to read drawings or layout plans. Attention to detail and precision in finishing work. * Physical stamina for lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
