Job Description


The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) (Train-and-Place with Commitment to Hire) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a talent development programme aimed at building the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand.

The training programme consists of 15 months of local attachment with GSK. Due to the nature of the programme, we can only consider Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents. For more information, please visit

Role Description:

To manage a team of technicians/junior staff in a specific engineering discipline to ensure timely implementation of projects and plant availability at all times.

Trainee to be involved in:

Provide technical expertise and support Maintenance Team in delivering equipment maintenance to maximize equipment availability to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Investigate and analyse incidents pertaining to rotating and static equipment failure or malfunction; to identify root causes of problems and recommend & implement solutions.

Review, analyse and recommend equipment maintenance strategies and/or asset care with both engineering and operational teams to reduce the impact of unplanned maintenance, relating to downtime, MTBF, costs and spares/consumables usage.

Lead condition based monitoring, predictive maintenance and risk based inspections on site, to ensure rotating equipment reliability and mitigate potential loss of primary containment from static equipment.

Use GSK Production System/ Lean Six Sigma principles to support reduction in maintenance waste (e.g. manhours, consumables and non-value added activities).

Use of data to generate KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and support development of continuous improvement activity.

Provide technical expertise and equipment standardisation during Front End Engineering & Design (FEED); to ensure equipment maintenance considerations are included at FEED.

Implementation and execute of the Product Contamination Cause and Elimination (PCCE) program.

Support the Engineering Team to implement GSK Engineering Standards and drive action closure for Engineering Alert etc.

Support and engagement with the central Reliability Community of Practice, other GSK sites, GSK functions and wider industry partners to seek and share best practices.

Provide site inputs to the development of Global Engineering Standards (GES), Engineering Standards (ES) and Engineering Policy (EP).

To support customer complaints and deviation investigations and ensure that all relevant engineering corrective actions are completed within the agreed timeline.

To support Engineering Technical Report and provide input to Periodic Reviews and Annual Validation Report to ensure timely completion of the report; including routine support.

We are looking for you with below attributes:

Degree in Engineering or related disciplines

Good knowledge of Reliability Centre Maintenance (RCM).
