Job Description


The Trade Services Product Manager is responsible for the Singapore Trade Services business, including Revenue and P&L responsibility, adherence to Product standards and policies, managing the origination channels we use to reach our customers, and conforming to regulations and regulatory requirements. The focus of the individual will also be on local business development, driving and analyzing Trade P&L, establishing pricing and network strategy, monitoring metrics and driving digitization.

An integral part of Trade\'s growth strategy is our Trade Services pillar, which covers fee based businesses such as letters of credit issuance and confirmation, guarantee and SBLC issuance and re-issuance etc. as well asset business such as UPAS LCs, Export LC discounting and Trade Loans to FIs. Trade Services Product Manager will be responsible for the overall P&L of the pillar as well as risk and controls and digitization focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sustainable growth in the Spore Trade and Trade Services business across Citi ICG corporate, financial institution and commodity client base through effective execution of our strategy and management of our diverse product set, the portfolio, its governance, risks and controls
  • Responsible for all the Country Product Programs in the region, and to ensure that these are maintained and updated in a timely manner in accordance with Global Product Program and local regulatory and legal requirements, working directly with key stakeholders (Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations).
  • Working closely with Sales, Market Managers and Relationship Managers to drive origination for new trade deals as well as to grow utilization of existing trade facilities and programs. Focus on key corridors/flows for Trade Services growth.
  • Implementing product initiatives, including technology platforms roll out and digitization (front end and back end)
  • Help drive our digitization strategy. Increase adoption of the use of our platform and expand our solution to broader client segment set.
  • Work with regional and global partners and drive the development, approval, implementation and commercialization of new products. Ensure alignment between product specific risk/credit models and structure with Basel and Regulatory rules.
  • Engage in Regional and Global Deal Reviews (deal specific fee pricing and input into interest rate pricing, if any)
  • Manage and maximize sub-product P&Ls and analyze customer and segment profitability; Set pricing strategy for each product.
  • Partner with Product Development and Channels teams to enhance our Trade Services product capabilities and the client experience.
  • Play an active role in alignment between Regional and Global Product Management, Product Development and Trade In-Business Control teams as well as our key stakeholders, i.e. BCMA, TTS Sales, Risk, Compliance, O&T, legal and financial controllers as it relates to commercialization of our products
  • Focuses on controls and governance. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications
  • 4 to 8 years of banking experience
  • Past experience in Trade, with Trade Services experience being preferred.
  • Educated to graduate level at a minimum
  • MBA or equivalent preferred
  • This role will also continue to drive commercialization of new products and new trade corridors in order to grow the business. Specific to fee growth, this role will also focus on fee initiatives in order to meet Fee growth targets. The role will also deal with risk/ compliance initiatives coming from global or local regulators that is required from Singapore.
  • In addition, the Product manager is expected to keep abreast of market developments in the trade space to meet evolving client needs and new product development/innovation activities and will drive digitization of existing trade services on CitiDirect, DocuSign and on 3rd party platforms such as Contour & Komgo.
