The Role Responsibilities

Operational Effectiveness

  • Develop solutions to improve administrative controls and efficiency within Traded Risk.
  • Standardise and systematise Traded Risk processes.
  • Leverage technological tools and/or automation to improve effectiveness of BAU activities set out below.
Governance
  • Prepare monthly Chief Risk Officer reports.
  • Prepare monthly updates for Global Head of FM and Global Head of TRM on main traded risk themes, forward looking insights and high-risk items affecting the Group.
  • Lead assessment of the potential conflicts of interest within the function and the implementation of the register for submission to Group Compliance.
  • Manage Traded Risk delegation of Market Risk and Counterparty Credit authorities.
  • Manage Traded Risk Management tracking of headcount, vacancies, organisational charts.
  • Coordinate TRM\xe2\x80\x99s Group Internal Audit engagement and support the delivery of management action plans during annual reviews.
  • Manage Traded Risk audit action tracker, coordinating with Group Internal Audit.
  • Manage tracking of Traded Risk Material Risk Taker population with periodic reviews and updates to HR.
  • Manage Enterprise Risk Management requests for periodic updates, GovPoint and M7 entries where required.
Perform secretariat coordination for FM and TM Traded Risk Forums:
  • Drafting agenda
  • Drafting Regulatory Update paper.
  • Preparing meeting materials (pack).
  • Terms of Reference and Membership coordination.
  • Recording and tracking meeting actions.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Produce, review and circulate monthly PRA Continuous Assessment Meeting packs.
  • Manage the TRM Regulatory Tracker for senior management, including distribution of actions to stakeholders and tracking items to completion.
  • Support periodic attestation of Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk chapters of the Prudential Compliance Framework (PCF).
Support Traded Risk regulatory engagement and requests:
  • Actions from Continuous Assessment meetings.
  • Regulatory self-assessments.
  • Ad-hoc thematic reviews and information requests.
Strategy
  • Support the strategic plan for Financial Markets and SCB Group with respect to UK PRA regulatory and market risk capital requirements.
  • Support TRM in developing control and governance measures related to emerging risk types such as Climate Risk, Emissions trading, etc.
Business
  • Support the strategic intent and collective agenda for Traded Risk Management and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Support the Function\xe2\x80\x99s capabilities, skills and infrastructure to meet ongoing business needs and plans with respect to market risk capital and regulatory requirements.
Processes
  • Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of Traded Risk processes.
People & Talent
  • Uphold and reinforce the independence of the Function from those whose primary responsibility is to maximise short-term revenues and profits.
  • Lead through example and support the appropriate culture and values within the Function and across the wider organisation.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Relevant academic qualifications at university level.
  • 5+ Years in experience in Market risk
  • Background in Traded Risk \xe2\x80\x93 Market Risk and/or Counterparty Credit Risk experience preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a similar role.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to articulate objectives and requirements clearly.
  • Proven writing skills with in a technical or financial area.
