Job Title: OB Cable Tester

This role will contribute to Outside Broadcast (OB) cable preparation for coverage of events mainly in sport. All training will be provided for various kinds of cables. Working a couple of years in this role an individual will be able to learn about rigging for projects and travel with the crew worldwide.

Main responsibilities include:

• Work with the OB Cable Team to preparing cabling requirement for outgoing shipments to all projects
• Inspect, troubleshoot and maintain cables in any incoming shipments from projects
• Assist in rolling the cables on drums, palletise drums and store pallets on designated shelves
• Test and prepare SMPTE camera cables
• Test, prepare and repair Triax camera cables
• Test and prepare Audio loom- Veam cables
• Test, prepare and repair 12 way Audio loom cables
• Learn and perform fiber spicing
• Learn how to use fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment including fusion splicer, power meter and OTDR
• Build the skills and speed in splicing and troubleshooting damaged fiber, effectively and efficiently
• Inspect fiber optic cables to ensure no defects that could undermine signal strength and performance and repair single mode fiber if required.
• Test and prepare various audio, video, and power cables
• Follow all company\'s health and safety procedures
• Maintain work area clean, safe, and organized.
• Perform other related duties as required

Requirements and Qualifications * High school degree or equivalent

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good working attitude and a team player
• Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb, and lift up to 25kg or more
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
• Position requires working in warehouse environment
• Good verbal communication skills
• Certificate to work at height is a plus
• Experience with fiber optic cables is a plus or knowledge of fiber optic signal flow(bi-directional, uni-directional or null) is a plus
