With the team growing in Asia, we are seeking a new team member on the Transmission Engineering team to join us in Singapore. You would be expected to provide Level1/Level2 operations support, provisioning of

transmission services and ad hoc on-site support to our clients\' base, project support and ad hoc \xe2\x80\x9csmart hands\xe2\x80\x9d support to other Business Units. You would be the key person to liaise with clients, service providers and vendors during fault isolation, resolution or new services provisioning.

In your role, you would be :

  • Daily checklist/review on NMS/consultation with NOC re status of network.
  • Provide support to Senior CEs and other teams in order to assist with on-site support, trouble shooting and basic configuration of equipment.
  • Testing of transmission links.
  • Fault diagnostics on transmission interface media types, operation of test equipment and interpretation of test results
  • To resolve customer issues by providing technical support mainly remotely, on an ad hoc basis on-site.
  • Provide smart hands support in commissioning and/or troubleshooting of microwave/satellite solutions.
  • To provide 2 nd level support to the NOCs for such services and be an escalation point for such issues.
  • Work with Field Operations Senior CE and other teams to resolve higher level problems and implement solutions per request.
  • Operation/interpretation of transmission test equipment/results.
  • Provide support within a global team to ensure proper handover of tasks/activities to ensure 24x 7 support to PCCWGlobal client base (external/internal).
  • Installation of equipment (racking/stacking).
  • Microwave/Satellite installation assistance (if need arises).
  • Controlling of assets, securing, update documentation and following asset management procedures.
  • Setup remote terminals (i.e. Teamviewer) and remote communications (Skype) to assist Senior Customer Engineers at remote sites.
  • Providing standby and overtime (after hours/weekends/public holidays) support as scheduled and/or assigned on ad hoc basis.
  • Compiling & submitting of monthly reports.
  • To be 24/7 on-call, and be participated in the team`s on-call routine to ensure around clock support.
To be successful in this role, you would have:
  • Preferably an university Degree in Electronic/Information System/Computer Engineering with 5 year\'s transmission experience or Preferably a Telecommunications qualification in SDH, PDH, TDM, GigE optical systems
  • Knowledge of carrier transmission technologies
  • Preferably transmission related experience with ADMs i.e. ECI, Huawei, ZTE or Nortel etc
  • General experience in wireless technologies
  • Experience in telecommunications service provider markets and support processes
  • Understanding of Operational (service management) processes
  • Understand Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio
  • Well versed in spoken/written English
  • Good communication (especially telephonic), presentation and interpersonal skills;
