Sqkii is known for our flagship #HuntTheMouse campaign that gives away cold, hard cash to players who find hidden coins. If you\xe2\x80\x99ve seen Singaporeans squatting in random spots, walking around with metal detectors, or sticking their heads under tables\xe2\x80\xa6 you\xe2\x80\x99ve probably seen one of our games in action. Besides our hunts, we also create custom games that bring players on other real life adventures and virtual journeys through their mobile screens \xe2\x80\x94 they\xe2\x80\x99re also super cool, just ask the mouse.

Right now, we\xe2\x80\x99re bringing #HuntTheMouse beyond the shores of Singapore to other cities across Asia-Pacific. We visited 5 cities in just Q2 2023 alone, and oh boy do we have big plans ahead. Big plans = bigger team, so we\xe2\x80\x99re on the hunt (ha) for someone who wants to hop onto this thrilling ride.

As our UI/UX Design Intern, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work your magic behind-the-scenes to bring our current and future games to wild new heights. Fair warning \xe2\x80\x94 we\xe2\x80\x99re open to ideas from literally anyone in the team, so you can expect some pretty absurd plans amidst legit game thingamajigs. If you love games, understand games, and can\xe2\x80\x99t wait to create some of the most exciting ones to date, we (and our Game Operations team) are 200% ready to meet you!

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing:

• Performing in-depth research in order to create effective user personas, information architecture and user journeys
• Tackling clients\xe2\x80\x99 product requirements with comprehensive UX design strategies, by applying gamer psychology and human-centred design principles
• Producing high quality UX design work, including, user flow diagrams, site maps, wireframes and prototypes (both in paper & digital formats)
• Conveying your vision for the final digital product through sketches, storyboards and mood boards
• Working closely with game designers, developers, copywriters, UI designers and other stakeholders to produce high-quality games
• (Bonus) Conducting tests for digital products at all stages of planning in order to analyse and predict user behaviour

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll need:

• To be a current student at local Singapore public polytechnics or universities
• Knowledge of UX processes and usability design principles
• Strong understanding of hierarchy and layout design principles
• Understanding of game navigation and common UI patterns
• The ability to synthesise user research into UX design insights
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management and organisation abilities
• A high degree of self-motivation
• High attention to details
• Confidence, resilience, persistence
• Experience in game design would be a plus
• Commitment for at least three months, though the internship period is flexible
