UI/UX Engineer, Integrated Digital Product Centre

The Integrated Digital Product Centre translates research outcomes by co-creating with the industry products and solutions that leverage A*STAR digital technologies for commercial applications, economic development, and public benefit.

The UI/UX Engineer applies UX design principles to develops in-house R&D prototypes into user-friendly and appealing digital products.

Responsibilities:
Conduct user research, gather and evaluate user requirements as part of a cross functional team using agile methodology and UI/UX best practices.
Design web pages, navigation, and graphical user interface elements using design software.
Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes using wireframing or design tools to illustrate the user interface of web pages and applications.
Identify and troubleshoot user experience issues using testing tools and methods.
Establish design principle and style guides in UI/UX design, include typography, colour palettes, iconography, etc. and work closely with the project team to ensure the guidelines are effective and can be implemented.
Conduct regular design reviews and updates based on feedback from stakeholders.

Requirements:
Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in computer science, graphic design, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of recent experience as a UI/UX engineer or similar role in the ICT industry, as part of a product development team.
Proficient in wireframing or design software tools, such as Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong understanding of user-centred design principles, information architecture, user research, wireframing, prototyping and usability testing.
Proficient in front-end programming languages, e.g. HTML5, CSS or JavaScript.
Experience in web application framework, e.g. ReactJS, is a strong advantage.
Excellent analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Dynamic, agile, and adaptable to new tasks or roles as and when required.
Able to function in a fast-paced environment and handle shifts in technologies and projects requirements with ease.
