Job Description

Position Objective:

This position is responsible in technical underwriting and underwriting automation.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite life, health and high net worth applications using risk assessment tools in accordance with underwriting procedures, guidelines and legislative requirements.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge in handling complex cases with minimal supervision.
• Communicate clearly and professional with various internal and external contacts.
• Serve as a technical resource for sales channels
• Review underwriting processes and make recommendations for improvement.
• Support ad hoc projects in relation to strengthen underwriting quality control, automation and customer experience etc.
• Perform underwriting assessment on non-disclosure, review of sub-standard terms, post claims, reinstatement and inclusion of riders on in forced policies.
• Able to work with Product and Actuary, Distribution, Reinsurers and other departments on product development and other ad hoc projects.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory and risk management controls, corporate policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree holder.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in life and medical insurance underwriting with experience in large sum insurance & medically complex cases.
• Strong knowledge of medical conditions and local regulatory and practices.
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications, work-flow system, printing system and imaging system.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Good command of English and Mandarin (to liaise with Mandarin speaking customers and stakeholders).
