The company is a multinational investment bank and financial services company.The JobThe Underwriter role is responsible for underwriting of securitized loans / warehouses in coordination with origination and deal closing teams.Responsibilities:

• Respond to Transactors and clients on underwriting requests for credit extensions for new and existing clients, and do annual reviews for complex securitized loan portfolios.
• Conduct and review due diligence and prepare internal committee packages for approval, and follow through to obtain credit approvals from committee;
• If required, work with loan / bond sale team members for the sale or syndication of the loans to other lenders and / or Bond Investors and with Rating Agencies.
• Prepare monthly and/or quarterly reviews of existing borrowers in order to track compliance with various covenants or triggers as outlined in the Credit Agreement.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of financial products and services within Corporate Banking, Global Markets and the broader organization.
• Be or become very familiar with credit and regulatory policies and practices, to ensure compliance with the above and satisfactory ratings from internal and external auditors.
• Leverage existing credit background to achieve Credit Officers designation.
• Provide backup to other underwriting team members to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of underwriting to clients as needed. Recommend changes to process to achieve greater efficiency.
• Potential to travel outside of home base to meet with internal and external clients, conduct due diligence on specific asset portfolios and participate in training opportunities.

The Talent

• 5-8+ years of credit experience, of which minimum of 3 years in securitized loan underwriting or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Work well under tight deadlines, manage priorities, and complete assigned tasks with minimal management follow up.
• Good quantitative skills with a high proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft based programs.
• Excellent analytical and computer skills including the ability to quickly adopt new technology.
• Demonstrated track record and working knowledge of applying lending Underwriting Guidelines and preferably have some familiarity with the processes of Rating Agencies for securitized products.
• Ability to travel (10-20% of time) on short notice necessary.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin (both written & spoken) in order to handle China market and liaise with chinese speaking associates
