Symrise \xe2\x80\x93 always inspiring more \xe2\x80\xa6 Utilities and Facilities Engineer, Singapore This position will provide the incumbent exposure to a manufacturing plant environment, reporting into the engineering department. The Engineer is responsible for operations and maintenance of all utilities, water, HVAC, and various facilities equipment including fire protection system. The Engineer will also be given the opportunity to lead capital expenditure projects and expedite continuous improvements initiatives as well as lead a team to drive towards asset reliability and efficiency improvements. The Position:
Responsible for plant utilities and facilities maintenance (steam, compressed air, chilled water, hot water, wastewater treatment, regenerative thermal oxidiser (RTO), HVAC, electrical, domestic water, infrastructure services, pest, and waste management system).
Plan and support resources to operate utilities and ensure 24 X 7 continuous operation to support plant activities.
Execute and implement an effective maintenance and operation program, work prioritization, complying with operational & personnel standards, regulatory & statutory requirement.
Ensure utilities and facilities is in safe operating environment by complying to all essential statutory requirement to protect our employee, equipment, and the environment.
Manage a team of supervisors and technicians and drive excellence in the areas of utilities, facilities & sustainability.
Collaborate with plant maintenance team & external contractors and execute right first-time maintenance on utilities & facilities equipment, in a safer manner.
Ensure all work activities are carried out in compliance, according to site EHS procedures & standards
Ensure audit readiness by complying with current standards, regulatory and cGMP requirement to protect product and prevent major compliance observation.
Achieve engineering department financial objectives through efficient utility operation, cost improvement actions and optimal expenditure options to gain cost competitiveness.
Drive continuous improvement by providing recommendation and initiative to promote sustainability (energy & water), safety, maximize asset reliability and operational cost to drive operational excellence in utilities operation.
Active participation in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program and drive continuous improvements in the areas of reliability, competency, spare parts management, and operator care.
Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and drive equipment reliability in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Lead or supports capital expenditure projects execution.
Any other duties as assigned by superior.
The Ideal Candidate:
Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years\' relevant experience in the food/chemical/ electronics/ pharmaceutical industry.
Boiler steam engineer / attendant certification
Problem-solving experience in utilities operation and maintenance, troubleshooting and resilience to resolve challenging issues.
Working experience on boiler, chiller, and exhaust scrubber system.
Possess good communication skills and manage internal and external stakeholders effectively
Experience in leading a team
