, SingaporeJob Family Group: Process EngineeringWorker Type: RegularPosting Start Date: August 2, 2024Business unit: Downstream and RenewablesExperience Level: Experienced Professionals:What\xe2\x80\x99s the role?As a Utilities Technologist, part of your accountabilities would include:

• Provide technical specialist support for Shell Jurong Island Utilities, such as steam, condensate, boiler-feed water, fresh water, chilled cooling water, sea cooling water, gaseous fuel, liquid fuel, electricity, nitrogen, and instrument air, knowing the performance and capacity of the system, as well as serving as a resource for technical knowledge and connection between multi-disciplines.
• Conduct day-to-day monitoring and proactive technical monitoring and participate in panel huddle and morning meetings.
• Participate in the routine Go Green meetings e.g. panel huddle, morning meetings, alarm management etc.
• Provide assistance, guidance, and advice during troubleshooting on issues in Utilities.
• Drive unit process improvement efforts in terms of system reliability, capacity utilization and Utilities Technical Availability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. Support the development of business improvement tactics, including technical justification documentation as required. Support project teams to ensure optimal utilization of utilities for plant changes and capital projects.
• Identify threats, opportunities, and solutions for continuous improvement of the Utilities system. Responsible to own and take lead on the improvement tactics/ threats.
• Plan, conduct, and document test runs to improve Utilities unit performance.
• Develop and implement plant changes and/or projects for Utilities (MOC process), including conducting study and research, seeking for technical assurance and leading multi-disciplinary team reviews and challenge sessions, etc.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders e.g. management, operation, maintenance, engineering, consultant etc.
• Maintain an overview on Chemical Contracts to ensure that the supplier is delivering the general and service performance requirements; provides assurance on water chemistry and chemicals use.
• Be responsible for working in a safe manner and demonstrating a personal commitment to both personal and process safety.
• Support and conduct training for staffs to increase the knowledge of utilities operation.
• Support development and review of Operating Manual and procedure for Utilities system.
• Support studies such as process safety, master plan and reliability (e.g. alarm review, RBI, MTO) and follow up on gaps closure.
• Support turnaround activities and site wide initiatives such as participation in unit shutdown preparation and coordination.
• Able to work with the management system and work processes in Shell Jurong Island.

What we need from youWe are committed to speak with individuals who have the following:

• Degree/Masteral Degree in Chemical Engineering
• At least 3 years of relevant experience would be an advantage
• Experience working for utilities in Manufacturing Industry (steam and condensate system, BFW and water treatment units, chilled and cooling water system)
