Research Manager Scope \xe2\x80\x93 Consumer Banking Group, DBSAs the Research Manager for Consumer Banking, you play a critical role in shaping human-centred digital experiences across multiple markets. You\xe2\x80\x99ll manage and develop a high-performing research team that works closely with product teams, design leads, and vendors to ensure insights guide the design of our products.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam leadership:

  • Drive Research Excellence: Maintain high standards of research quality and rigor, ensuring that all studies deliver actionable insights that elevate the user experience and drive product success
  • Foster a culture of research: Promote research best practices within the team and encourage a user-centric mindset among stakeholders. , foster a collaborative and growth-oriented culture
  • Develop/maintain high performing technical and leadership layers (e.g. core researchers vs leads vs principals)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with design leads, product managers, and business teams to integrate research insights seamlessly into the design process
Grow talent; manage people/performance:
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones to provide mentorship / guidance on craft / career planning and growth
  • Create development plans for your team members
Develop research strategy:
  • Define and execute a research roadmap that aligns with product goals, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to inform design decisions toward better products and services
  • Work closely with business teams to ensure that research strategy aligns with business goals and outcomes/insights drive toward business/product goals
  • Collaborate with research leads to develop thought leadership \xe2\x80\x93 knowledge of the leading edge (multi-dimensional knowledge i.e. business, design, product, financial, innovation, competitive landscape); reach new customer groups
Manage research projects:
  • Oversee research initiatives across multiple markets, collaborating with external vendors to gather localised insights when needed, ensuring a deep understanding of customer needs and behaviour
  • Vendor management: Select and manage research vendors in each market, ensuring the quality and consistency of research outputs while maintaining strong partnerships
  • Capacity and resource planning: track, report, and assess at key intervals (e.g. quarterly) to support ongoing projects and groom pipeline
