Currently, more than 1800 students are learning at GESS supported by more than 400 full time and part time academic and administrative staff members. In August 2018 GESS moved to Dairy Farm Road to a modern new school campus located at the edge of Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s largest nature reserve.


Responsibilities

• Cover for absent teachers in the German Secondary School following cover instructions
• Teach the school\xe2\x80\x99s curriculum in the classes you are assigned to using effective and current strategies
• Cultivate and maintain a positive, productive and caring learning environment in the classroom
• Maintain clear, regular and positive communication with colleagues and students
• Represent the school in a respectful way in all external communication

Key requirements

• Adequate teaching experience
• Recognized teaching qualification (1st and 2nd Staatsexamen or equivalent recognized teaching qualification)

• Knowledge, understanding or teaching experience of the German secondary school curriculum
• Articulate and effective written and oral communication in German and English, as the medium of instruction is German
• Humorous and resilient personality with joy for teaching and educating young students
• Experience with teaching methods that enable individualistic learning
• Good computer skills and experience with new media in class
• Openness to work in an international school setting

Our School
The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, German international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. As an accredited \xe2\x80\x98Excellent German School Abroad\xe2\x80\x99, the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates. Our European Section offers tuition in English for students from grade 1 - 12 across all three IB programmes (the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma Programme) as an authorised IB World School.
