We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Vessel Operator to join our dynamic Dry Cargo team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities and Duties:
Voyage Optimization:
Attentive review and interpretation of charter party terms to develop and implement optimal voyage plans.
Operational Excellence:
Efficiently coordinate voyage logistics, liaising with the Master, agents, chartering desk, and bunker suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
Compliance and Safety:
Prepare and ensure strict compliance with voyage orders, prioritizing the safety and efficiency of all voyages while adhering to Charter Party warranties.
Cost Management:
Appoint agents, negotiate and approve port pro-forma disbursements and third-party invoices, and plan, purchase, monitor, and coordinate bunker deliveries in a cost-effective manner to minimize voyage operating costs.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Maintain exceptional service levels by fostering strong relationships with our agency network, brokers, agents, and stevedores, ensuring clear and effective communication.
Digital Proficiency:
Utilize and update IMOS (or other integrated data systems) and follow internal procedures to ensure accurate data management and streamlined workflows.
Sustainability Focus:
Integrate sustainable practices into voyage planning, considering fuel efficiency and environmental regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency, staying abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements.
Insurance Handling:
Liaise with the Insurance Department on claims, incidents (hazardous situations, accidents), P & I matters, and vessel deviations (International Navigation Limits, war zones).
Job Requirement
Requirements and Work Experience:
Maritime studies or equivalent.
Fresh graduate are welcome to apply
Preferred: Experience as a ship officer or in a similar maritime operational role.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adept at using maritime software and digital communication tools.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust.
A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and a drive to achieve operational excellence.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute positively to a diverse team environment.
