[What the role is]
The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes and works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the first responder for all animal-related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in greater harmony within our biophilic City in a Garden.

[What you will be working on]

You will be part of the Compliance Management team under the Industry Standards and Regulatory Division, responsible for the inspection, surveillance, and enforcement activities related to the regulation of the animal sectors in Singapore.

Duties include:

• Inspection of animals/ornamental fish and licensed animal-related businesses including veterinary clinics, laboratories, farms, pet shops, etc
• Involvement in disease surveillance programmes
• Enforcement investigations related to non-compliances to licence and/or import/export conditions
• Assisting with animal disease outbreak investigation.
• Submission of reports.
• Address enquiries and feedback related to licensed animal and veterinary businesses
• Support other animal health and welfare related work.

[What are we looking for]

• Degree in Veterinary Science.
• Relevant working experience in aquatic animals related industry will be an advantage.
• Team player with initiative, drive and good interpersonal/communication skills (verbal and written) and able to work independently.
• Good IT skills and able to learn new in-house computer systems/applications.
• Able to work outdoor.
• Able to drive would be an advantage.
