Department overview:
The Internal Audit department is a key part of the Nomura\'s corporate governance structure - the \xe2\x80\x9cthird line of defence\xe2\x80\x9d - and the department\'s overarching objective is to provide independent assurance to senior management and the relevant audit committees as to the robustness of the company\'s control environment, and to identify and report any weaknesses. The Asia ex-Japan (AEJ) Internal Audit team comprises 30 permanent headcount of which nine are located in Hong Kong, 20 in Singapore and one in Korea, covering all Nomura\'s businesses in the region.
Nomura\'s Internal Audit department has professionals reporting to the Head of the Global Wholesale Division Internal Audit, comprising business, risk, data, and IT audit specialists. The Risk Audit function is a team of specialist auditors focused on providing assurance over the controls within the Risk Management division. The AEJ Risk Audit team is centred in Singapore and is part of the Global Risk Audit team.
