The Vice President, Social Impact, Asia Pacific (AP) is responsible for overseeing, executing and scaling the Center's strategy in Asia Pacific which will contribute to global and regional objectives. At a high level, the role will drive all regional CFIG activity covering programs, data and insights, strategic engagement and partnerships. In addition, the Vice President, based in Singapore, will manage a team of three people located in Indonesia, India and China. The role reports into the Senior Vice President, Social Impact, International Markets (IMK) and is part of the social impact IMK team. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic direction . Execute the strategy for the Center in AP which supports philanthropic and other relevant objectives as well as drives impact at a regional and global level . Refine the Center's approach to financial security, small business growth and impact data science in AP . Implement and execute all of the Center's philanthropic work in the region with a focus on small business enablement . Ensure existing social impact flagship programs in India, Indonesia and China are executed responsibly, have robust governance and are delivering maximum social impact . Support the execution of pan regional programs in AP including with Accion, CARE, BSR and Strive Community . Identify new partners and build robust programs and partnerships for the region that leverage all the assets of the Center to advance our financial inclusion and/or philanthropic objectives . Leverage regional grants to maximize social impact and ensure strong governance, including o directing program design, implementation, and reporting in line with Mastercard Impact Fund o deploying critical and innovative thinking in order to address barriers/challenges o developing strategies to drive scale and replication Stakeholder engagement . Serve as a strategic advisor to the business to support MSG priorities and to help direct commercial efforts aimed at driving financial inclusion and MSME enablement . Work cross functionally with key teams in AP including government engagement, public policy, marketing, communications and market development . Leverage expertise and insights to deepen relationships with key customers and stakeholders and contribute to efforts to bring in new business (e.g. customer pitches and information sessions, RFPs, etc.) . Engage with Regional and Divisional Presidents to identify strategic opportunities for alignment to further entrench CSSI within the organization . Navigate complex relationships and earn trust of stakeholders Thought leadership . Leverage relationships and insights to elevate Mastercard's position as a private-sector leader in driving Commercially Sustainable Social Impact, and crowd in' support from strategic organizations . Develop and operationalize new strategic partnerships with external stakeholders from NGOs, government and non-governmental organizations, and multi-nationals active in the social impact space . Strategically engage high-level and like-minded thought leaders to advance inclusive growth across AP . Represent CFIG as a regional spokesperson, help position Mastercard as a private-sector thought leader, catalyze action, and drive positive brand outcomes through Center-led convenings, research/insights and external events (such as NEF, WEF, etc) Team Management . Manage a team of three people across India, Indonesia, and China . Provide guidance, coaching and constant feedback to ensure the team is supported and functioning at a high level . Support team career development . Engage proactively across the IMK social impact team and the Center team at large All About You . Demonstrated project management and execution skills with strong ability to multi-task and pivot in a dynamic working environment. . Proven leadership in international development, philanthropy and/or grant making, with a focus on enterprise development, data science for social impact, skilling and financial security. . Strong understanding of the relationship between business, government, and community needs with an existing network of AP key influencers, policy makers, non-profit leaders and others. . Prior experience working, engaging or researching the needs of MSMEs, low wage workers and other BoP populations. . Evidence of successful partnership development, planning and execution. . Ability to work quickly and respond to urgent, unanticipated requests. . Experience with managing multiple stakeholders with professionalism, maturity, and independence. . Proven track record of working and living in low and middle income countries . Positive attitude, flexibility and a desire to maximize every opportunity . Strong written and oral communications skills in English . Team player, willing to step into any project as required . Intellectual curiosity and passion to deliver inclusive growth .
