Job Summary

The Vice President - Innovation leads and sets the direction for executing cross-functional and regional innovation programmes from initiation to completion. He/She partners with business leaders and determines programme goals that support business objectives and strategies. He directs a team of professionals and third-party vendors or service providers towards reaching organisational goals related to programmes. He manages risks that affect the delivery of outcomes. He designs, develops and implements operating policies.

As one who directs multiple Innovation programmes, he adopts a broad, global perspective and is confident in making critical decisions and handles competing resource needs with implications on various projects and stakeholders. He is an excellent leader who has a passion for mentoring and developing professionals in the team.

He/She holds department management and administration responsibilities including the overall management of project teams and development of staff. He interacts with the most senior level managers and executives to provide technical expertise and consulting project direction. He designs, develops and implements operating policies, as well as provides guidance, direction and peer review to consulting.

He is a strong leader, with a broad sense of perspective and the ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders. He is strategic in his approach to managing resources and developing capabilities within the team.

Job Responsibilities/Key Tasks(External)

Set Innovation Strategy

• Develop a robust strategy to achieve organisational goals and objectives
• Identify target customers, solution portfolio and a unique value proposition to gain competitive advantage
• Develop, Review & Maintain the Innovation Strategy, Roadmap & Plan.
• Ensure the the rollout of Innovation projects across ST Logistics are within stipulated budget, quality and schedule.

Develop Innovation Culture

• Establish the innovation office to reinforce the value proposition and competitive differentiation for delivering Innovation
• To lead in maintaining sustainable long term quality service commitment with all vendors and develop good customer relations in pipeline engagements and projects.

Provide expert advice

• To lead, approve and direct all Innovation Technology solutions in support of the business development and continuous improvement functions within ST Logistics
• To lead, approve and direct the rollout of projects across ST Logistics business units within stipulated budget, quality and schedule.

Set Standards & Governance

• To establish Innovation development and governance plans, maintains and implements Innovation operational standards aligning with corporate objective.
• Develop discipline and drive conformance to organisation\'s standards and systems by establishing metrics, targets and reviewing of mechanism.

Manage Department

• Oversee department management including budgets, forecasting, work allocations and staffing

Job Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of Innovation Trends & Emerging Technologies
• Good/Excellent knowledge of Information Technology
• Good/Excellent knowledge of Large Project Management
• Strong/Excellent business acumen, especially in Supply Chain/Logistics Industry.
• Excellent people and communication skills

Professional Qualifications & Relevant Experience

• University Degree in Engineering/Information Technology/Business Administration
• Relevant Information technology/project management certifications
• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent
• Minimum 10-15 years post qualification experience in a senior role in a company of similar scale and complexity
• Relevant industry sector experience would be advantageous.
• Able to function successfully in a constantly changing environment.

ST Logistics
