Vice President, Lead Java Software Developer, Liquidity Technology

Job Description


Our Global Liquidity Technology team is seeking a Lead Java Software Developer to join us on this journey. A key part of the liquidity management program is the delivery of a technology solution to perform Liquidity management and treasury functions in the firm.

You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. Development will be predominantly done by building micro services with Java/ Springboot/ SQL and building UI with Angular/ HTML/ JavaScript and adhering to Lean & Agile delivery methodologies. Development will take place in a continuous integration environment leveraging tools and processes to ultimately increase the control, quality and business value of the development team products.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of software development experience in Java tech stack - Java 8 or higher, Junit, Mockito
  • Advanced experience in building cloud native microservice applications with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
  • Advanced experience with one or more database technologies (e.g. Oracle)
  • Advanced experience in building REST APIs
  • Experience of working in Containerization technology and platform - Dockers, Kubernetes and good knowledge in DevOps practices.
  • Strong focus on automated testing with good knowledge of TDD, BDD and Unit testing techniques
  • Strong understanding of development tools: source code control software (e.g. subversion, git), build automation (e.g. Maven), continuous integration (e.g. Hudson/Jenkins), automated testing (e.g. cucumber, FitNesse).
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
  • A broad range of exposure to distributed messaging systems such as Kafka
