About the Team The M&A advisory team in Singapore offers financial advisory service to Mizuho Financial Group\xe2\x80\x99s clients for their acquisitions and corporate finance activities in the Southeast-Asian region. The team has extensive track record in the successful execution of transactions of differing level of complexities in most countries in the region. Working closely with counterpart professionals in Mizuho Securities in Japan, we provide clients with comprehensive financial services ranging from end-to-end advisory services to arranging of financing required for M&A deals.

The position offers the opportunity to work with both internal and external teams across the ASEAN region with exposure to cross border transactions in various industries.

Responsibilities

• Cross border M&A executions as the financial advisor to Japanese companies, including but not limited to:

• As a project manager and/or a team member of M&A execution deals, to execute M&A transactions including researching a sector, examining valuation of a company, supervising due diligence, structuring of a deal, documentation, making advices on negotiation tactics, attending a variety of meetings or negotiation to support clients and any other execution related activity of M&A deal

• Ensure successful execution of mandates, including working with team members within department, other departments in Mizuho Securities, Mizuho Financial Group and external advisors (legal advisors, FDD TDD teams etc)

• Cross border M&A origination activities, including but not limited to:

• Origination of M&A transactions for Mizuho Securities\xe2\x80\x99 clients through own business network or by directly accessing to companies after analysing their background

• Work with Mizuho Securities and Mizuho Financial Group for the production of presentation materials, prepare transaction documents for the successful procurement of the mandate

• Supervise and create presentation materials to originate M&A deals
  

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is required
• Possess more than 8 years of working experience in investment banking, with at least 7 years of M&A financial advisory experience, particularly transaction experience of M&A financial advisory in advising Japanese companies
• Experienced in sell/buy side M&A advisory and/or PE, preferably in one or more of the focus sectors
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial markets and investment banking business, understands transaction cycle and the steps in the process and is execution oriented
• Strong team-player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation and public speaking skills to liaise with clients and various professionals
• Attention to detail, organised and thorough with desire for continuous improvements
• Existing network with other investment banks and advisory firms
• Advanced language skills in both English and Japanese (written and spoken) required due to communication with Japanese clients and liaising with various departments in Mizuho Securities\xe2\x80\x99 head office in Japan
• PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
