We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President - Payment Services.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manages the operational activities under Global Payment Solutions (GPS) Operations i.e. Payment Services Process, Payment Investigations, Reconciliations, Screening
  • Monitors and controls daily operational activities and ensures that all transactions/facilities are properly authorised within set limits/delegation of authority
  • Ensures that SLAs agreed with the businesses are met consistently
  • Manage projects and other industrial initiatives
  • Ensure a consistently high level of internal and external customer service level is maintained by meeting SLAs, meeting timelines, and maintaining close rapport with customers
  • Ensure customer complaints receive prompt attention and inform SVP
  • Proactive engagement with internal customer through regular meetings/visits
  • Effective management of an extensive network of stake holders within Digital Business Services, GPS, Line of business, Regional payments teams and other global functions
  • Provide oversight on the outsourced activities and ensure the service performance met the predefined standard
  • Manages quality through appropriate mechanism to track errors/take actions to achieve zero defects, if not minimise operational losses
  • Manages/monitors costs and implements measures or process improvements to increase productivity and reduce cost
  • Proactively recommend/implement best practices/workflow improvements to achieve increased productivity and close inefficiency gaps
  • Work closely with Business to review and improve processes/workflows continuously
  • Coordinating and activating contingency plans
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
  • Manage operational risk associated with the role and take action to minimize the likelihood of operational risk occurring, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
  • Compliance to Group procedures/audit/FIM/BIM and keep staff apprised of any changes
  • Monitors daily activities/exception reports to minimise error rates, highlighting any areas of concern to SVP and ensure appropriate actions are taken
  • Foster a compliance culture and ensure all policies and procedures are updated and followed by the team
  • Improve & maintain morale of staff through open communication, feedback & support
  • Encourage teamwork and co-operation
  • Ensures that appraisal system is effectively used and staff training needs are identified and addressed
Requirements
  • Previous Payment processing and investigation experience will be preferred
  • Ability to understand and manage risk
  • Self-motivated with the ability to think, and act independently combined with an ability to work under pressure to meet tight timelines
  • Strong Team Player and have the ability to work with others
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, diligence, and resilience in order to achieve results
  • Able to work independently under own direction and initiative in a time sensitive environment
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload, multi-task, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, time-management and organizational skill
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Problem Solving and Critical Thinking
