Serving the Global Marketing Organization within Seagate, the Video Editor role will join the talented Seagate Video Team, which is responsible for developing, creating, and managing video content for all brands within the Seagate family.

The Video Team leads the production of video content for the following:

  • External-facing video content to support Seagate\'s marketing initiatives, including consumer and enterprise products and other product services and solutions.
(Product/Service marketing videos, partner/customer stories, event trailers, product promo, content for Amazon A+ pages, etc.)
  • Supports internal projects (Annual sales meetings, sales training content, executive interviews, etc.)
  • Content to support our global social media teams (Original or variations of existing video assets designed specifically to adhere to constraints of various social media platforms, etc.)
At Seagate, we build our creative assets on the Adobe platform, so expertise using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products and the ability to create and collaborate in a remote environment is required.

You will report directly to our Senior Video Producer in the Global Marketing Organization.

About the role - you will:

Seagate Technology is seeking a talented Video Editor with exceptional understanding of the entire post-production pipeline.

We envision this role ultimately as a \xe2\x80\x9cbrand storyteller\xe2\x80\x9d who knows how to weave together a complete narrative. Knowledge of or hands-on experience with on-site video production is strongly preferred.

This role is highly detail-oriented and requires a deep understanding of the workflow of media assets from capture to final export and delivery and strong storytelling capabilities.

The ideal candidate has expertise in managing a wide variety of post-production assets including photo, video, and motion-graphics assets and a experience working with of various video file formats, compression formats and techniques, and post-production techniques to optimize final output of both audio and video components. This role also requires experience working with ungraded and/or RAW formats and color correction techniques to ensure final products achieve a high-quality final output that adheres to Seagate\'s brand standards.

The Video Editor position must have the ability to balance strategy and direction while bringing creative solutions to the table as we continue to strive for storytelling excellence in the tech space. Working within the marketing team, this role is responsible for delivering best-in-class video content while setting the future vision and bar for videos delivered within Seagate.
  • Work with Seagate\'s Senior Video Producer to execute video editing tasks and projects for a wide variety of video projects and styles
  • Produce video content that is \xe2\x80\x9con-brand\xe2\x80\x9d and meets stakeholder timelines and marketing objectives
  • Manage and facilitate delivery of new video content to stakeholders
  • Ability to oversee and manage multiple post-production projects simultaneously, including projects that have multiple deliverables tied directly to a marketing campaign or specific marketing objective
  • Work with Seagate project manager(s) to develop, define, and manage post-production schedules, timelines, and deliverables based on stakeholder input and corporate objectives while maintaining existing project deadlines
  • Collaborate with cross-department stakeholders including account managers, project managers, product marketing, developers, copywriters and designers
  • Develop and deliver rough or working cuts of video projects to stakeholders and clearly articulate edit notes during the review process when working with our internal stakeholders or our network of trusted production partners
  • Ability to leverage existing assets to produce new video content that is on-brand, high quality and breakthrough. This includes edits to existing video materials to support efforts by our social media team
  • Ability to communicate with and understand production requests of internal stakeholders and transfer this knowledge into an actionable post-production plan and timeline
  • Design and manage post-production schedules, timelines, and deliverables while maintaining existing project deadlines
  • Produce project / source files that can be repurposed by other departments or modified for future projects
  • Package and organize final source material (e.g. project timelines and associated project assets) for archival upon project completion
  • Prepare and organize post-production projects and content for use by Seagate\'s regionalization / translation teams.
  • Export final videos in required format(s) and spec(s) to project scope
  • Assist and support internally-led video production projects including the areas of production and/or post-production as required
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally if required
  • Represent Seagate when working with third-party production partners, agencies, and vendors

  • Project management skills - candidate must be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines
  • Creative visionary with essential knowledge of video post-production best practices and storytelling methods
  • Creation/production of video content including but not limited to use in digital installations, playback on various web players and platforms, or during live events
  • Ability to receive stakeholder feedback an input to tailor content to achieve voice and visual approach in video content to align with specific customer segments client objectives
  • A can-do, positive attitude that eats, breathes, and sleeps video
Your experience includes:
  • 3+ years relevant working experience
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Media Production, Arts, Film or other relevant or equivalent degree
  • Experience working with various video file formats (RAW, LOG) and expertise in video export/compression techniques
  • Strong competency is use of Adobe Creative Suite of software and video editing software programs (Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Post-production experience including video editing, motion graphics implementation, video compression and streaming video platform requirements
  • Experience with media asset management and organization of large file sets: photos, graphics, videos, audio files (music & sound effects), 3D and motion graphics files
  • Familiarity with current video post-production best practices and technical proficiencies of modern workflows and content types.
  • Understanding of sound design, track licensing/sourcing and color grading techniques
  • Access to a video-editing rig (Preferably Mac) capable of efficiently working with 4K and RAW video content
  • Access to high-speed internet to access very large working files and source materials
Location:

The Shugart site (named after Seagate\'s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center.
