Job Description

A newspaper for the local Malay community, Berita Harian was established on July 1, 1957. It presents news and issues from home, the region and the world, featuring a wide spectrum of topics from sports to politics and religion. Other highlights include Malay culture and tradition, arts and heritage, family, hobbies and leisure. Berita Harian also provides a platform for the Malay community to voice their views on issues that concern them. It is a paper that speaks with authority and understands the needs of the Malay community.

As a Video Editor/Videographer you will come up with concepts and produce videos for web and mobile platforms, enriching Berita Harian\xe2\x80\x99s storytelling capabilities and products and work towards strengthening the video presence in the digital and social media sphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Executing media production work including videography, video editing and media production for social media campaigns
• Conceptualise creative ideas, develop thematic directions, and style all videography/photography work.
• Co-lead end to end video production process, work in collaboration with the production and editorial team to identify, timeline, scripting and post-production.
• Conduct videoshoots, and live-stream events.

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a writing, content or video production role
• Experience in scripting, pre-production, filming & post-production
• Basic or intermediate videography and video editing skills. Knowledge in Adobe Premiere Pro is a plus
• Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
• Ability to produce quality work in a fast paced environment.
• Well-organised and a self-starter, capable of managing multiple projects.
• Experience in social media platforms and management systems particularly YouTube and Facebook.
• Effectively bilingual in English and Malay
• Willingness to work on weekends/public holidays when required
