As a Vision Engineer in the Assembly department, you will support and implement vision systems to improve product quality and manufacturing processes. You will integrate vision systems with robots and machines, develop new capabilities, and drive innovations in manufacturing technology. Your role involves analyzing vision system performance, resolving issues, optimizing inspection parameters, and supporting continuous improvements in assembly efficiency and quality.
Our Team
You will work within the DataCom and Specialty Solutions Division at Molex Singapore, collaborating closely with Mechanical, Control, Product Design, AQP/QA, and Assembly engineers, as well as production specialists, technicians, and external suppliers.
What You Will Do
Support vision system setup, testing, and validation for product and machine improvement
Integrate vision systems with automation equipment including robots and manufacturing machines
Analyze and resolve vision system performance issues on assembly lines
Optimize vision system parameters to improve inspection speed and accuracy
Perform measurement verification, correlation, and GR&R studies for qualification
Develop and maintain vision Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), validation results, and change controls
Provide training and guidance on vision system operation and troubleshooting to production teams
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing readiness and validation
Support assembly outsourcing teams with vision troubleshooting and system improvements
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing sessions
Uphold compliance with PBM Guiding Principles and organizational requirements
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Degree or Diploma in Software, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering
2-3 years experience in machine camera, vision scanner, or X-ray system development and/or implementation
2-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong ability to implement machine camera vision applications
In-depth knowledge and experience in software programming, optics, machine vision lighting, and automation
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
