We are looking for a dynamic UI/UX designer who will be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of our various digital assets. The position\'s location is Padan Crescent, Singapore.

The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to UI/UX design. You will ensure that all elements of the online user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design that are aligned with W\xc3\xa4rtsil\xc3\xa4\'s product design standards.

The ideal person for this role is comfortable with being in close contact with both internal and external stakeholders, and is an expert at finding explicit and tacit user needs from fragmented sources, translated into visual elements enabling end-user accessibility and usability. You will be part of a highly skilled and focused team, leveraging W\xc3\xa4rtsil\xc3\xa4\'s significant R&D resources and networks with a direct impact on developing and implementing smart technologies together with customers and development partners. To be successful in this role one must be highly self-motivated and organised, and driven by a passion to make a larger impact on a strategic level, even if it initially requires taking many smaller steps.

Main responsibilities

Conduct mainly qualitative user research with the target users of various concepts and development projects either by partnering with a Service Designer or individually.

Producing high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.

Designing UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our digital assets.

Testing UI elements such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages.

Create direction defining UI Design concepts and see them through into production and validation together with relevant Design and R&D teams globally.

Manage the guidelines and documentation related to the Design projects one works on, while supporting the global Design Team in developing systematic UX Design standards.

Design impactful visual presentations of future concepts, which help cement W\xc3\xa4rtsil\xc3\xa4\'s role as a key partner for stakeholders in Singapore and in the wider Asia region.

Work in close partnership with cross-functional teams and management.

Requirements

MA, BA or equivalent in Visual Design, Graphic Design, UX Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design or similar subject preferred. BA or Bsc in Computer Science, Human-Machine Interaction or similar with a strong Visual and UX Design track record also considered.

Minimum 5 years of professional design experience, preferably in a B2B context.

Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative user research methods.

Keen eye for visual detail and ability to translate brands into experiences.

Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, InVision, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, Design Systems, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Experience in Agile development methods.

A marketing mindset and the ability to visually sell ideas and concepts.

A working knowledge of motion design, photography and videography, and AR/VR solutions is an advantage.

Courage and passion to drive change by own example in a large organisation.

Excellent written and spoken English. Familiarity with multiple languages and cultures is an advantage.

Experience in Marine, Energy, Process Industry, Automotive or Aviation businesses is seen as an advantage.
