Job Summary SG Cares Volunteer Centre (VC) @ Jurong role is to build volunteer management capabilities, grow & coordinate volunteer supply and broker partnerships with stakeholders in Jurong town. Specifically, the role of the Volunteer Executive (Events Management) is to engage community partners, local grassroot organisations, schools, social service agencies etc to identify the needs and gaps in Jurong town and co-create opportunities to fill these needs and gaps.

Job Specifications
  • Engage community partners such as local grassroot organisations, schools, social service agencies and community groups for outreach activities to identify needs and gaps in Jurong town.
  • Understand the interests of volunteer groups to link them to the volunteering opportunities of interest.
  • Co-create events / activities with community partners with / without volunteer groups to meet the needs and gaps of the town.
  • Plan and execute a yearly Networking Event for all community partners to raise awareness of partners\xe2\x80\x99 programmes and to encourage sharing of resources to minimise duplication of efforts.
  • Bring together community partners with similar goals, for a Work Plan to concretise and plan next steps to reach the goal.
  • Plan and lead the execution of the yearly Volunteer Appreciation event to appreciate all the work they have done for the community, and yearly Volunteer Engagement to showcase other volunteering opportunities.
  • Manage and maintain records of volunteer groups, partnerships and build a repository of community resources within the town.
  • Share effective volunteer management practices including recruitment, training, deployment, retention and recognition of volunteers
  • Leverage partners\xe2\x80\x99 existing training programmes to coordinate volunteer training and development

Technical Competencies: A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or diploma (related discipline will be an advantage).

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and proactive in engaging diverse stakeholders from the public and private sectors, volunteers and residents
  • Detail-oriented with excellent planning and coordination skills
  • Strong written, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Canva
