Business Oversight Compliance VP

As a Barclays Business Oversight Compliance Vice President, you will provide compliance coverage primarily to the Macro businesses within Markets in Singapore You willsupport the businesses in APAC by providing day-to-day compliance advice and guidance and checking and challenging on areas relating to conduct and reputational riskYou will establish appropriate controls for effective compliance risk management, which include embedinf conduct risk management into the Bank's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing critical compliance support to the Emerging Markets' Major Growth Initiatives in APAC
  • Conducting verification checks to assess compliance with internal and regulatory and control requirements
  • Working with partners in other compliance groups, including Country Compliance, Central Compliance, Financial Crime, Compliance Assurance and Surveillance etc
  • Participating in the development and review of business related and compliance owned policies and procedures
  • Reviewing relevant marketing materials and other client facing materials, as appropriate
  • Being the primary compliance coverage person for the Macro business, engaging with business stakeholders to create awareness on compliance
  • Providing expertise support to the business to help identify conduct and reputational related issues and the solutions to address these issues
  • Conducting training on relevant compliance and conduct related topics and thematic issues to help drive the conduct risk management programme
What we're looking for:
  • University graduate with degree in Banking/Finance or Accountancy or equivalent work experience
  • Good understanding of FX and Rates product and the controls requirement
  • Able to work independently and as required, provide guidance to the junior team members
  • Able to provide effective check and challenge the business and escalate where appropriate
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise accordingly
  • Meticulous with details and yet with strong focus on big picture
  • Knowledge of key global and/or APAC regulatory rules and regulations
  • Pragmatic in problem-solving, adopting a flexible, consultative working style
