Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions \xe2\x80\x93 whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.\xe2\x80\x8b

Team Focus

This unit is responsible for partnering with business to drive Group-wide performance management programmes focused on cost, efficiency and productivity, leveraging a data-driven approach to generate actionable insights alongside business stakeholders.

The team engages cross-functional and cross-market stakeholders to develop methodologies, frameworks and principles of quantification/ value capture for business digital transformation and other strategic initiatives, drives business adoption of these approaches in decision making, supports analytics and provides central oversight and on-going governance to ensure standards are robust and appropriately applied.

The team also works closely with Platform and Technology teams to design and implement system solutions where required.

The team currently runs 3 key enterprise-wide programmes:

  • New cost allocation (NCA) is an enterprise data-driven transformation programme that redefines cost analytics and the way cost is attributed across business units, products and customer segments. The objective is to leverage data to provide transparent linkages between cost attribution and its underlying drivers that will generate actionable profitability/ productivity insights to support business decisions.
  • Strategic cost management (SCM) focuses on the capture of new value through identification of enterprise opportunities for operating leverage and structural changes in the cost base, in order to deliver cost reductions with a focus on both efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Digital value capture (DVC) sets out the overall methodology and measurements that the Group uses to realise the value created from our digital capabilities. The function provides business and financial insight on the P&L impact of these digital capabilities and works with the relevant businesses to identify the key metrics to measure, incentivise and drive digital adoption.
Each programme has elements of Change the Bank & Run the Bank. The team is responsible for leading/ driving change and at the same time sustaining business as usual processes, ensuring effective oversight and governance of initiatives already in place.

This role predominately focuses on the New cost allocation (NCA) programme. We are looking for a highly motivated tenured VP to support the transformation/ change management agenda for the programme\xe2\x80\x93 including continuous sharpening/ refinement of the methodology/ data, driving operational excellence through strengthening business tools/ dashboards, and tightening processes and governance.

Responsibilities

This is a cross-functional role working with a diverse group of stakeholders \xe2\x80\x93 Business units/ Finance/ Technology.

Cost Analytics and Transformation

(1) Being a business partner on cost/ productivity methodology, analytics, business design and implementation
  • Partner with business to identify ways of measuring productivity; develop/ implement frameworks
  • Support business requirements gathering in methodology & data to continuously sharpen analytics and user management tools
  • Implement & maintain changes through purpose-built application, working closely with partners (business, platform, technology) to understand data availability and granularity, translating business inputs into technical user application configurations.
  • Support programme management and prioritisation to deliver outcomes across application, data, user interface, tableau dashboard and other tools
(2) Drive operational excellence in processes and governance
  • Identify areas of improvement/ optimisation/ automation in operational processes and workflow
  • Put in place robust governance framework and documentation alongside stakeholders
  • Support monthly processes as part of programme management
  • Drive user awareness of application/ user tool functionalities
Requirements
  • Prior experience in data analytics strongly preferred, with experience in financial services, analytics, driving cross functional large-scale programmes with significant stakeholder engagement.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with at least 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • Consulting/ Techno-functional experience advantageous:
  • Data driven business/ finance transformation, preferably in the banking industry
  • Business analytics/ Tech consulting and implementation with data driven focus
  • Strong ability to work with big datasets/ relational databases, granular data flows/ processes.
  • Technical competency (proficiency in Excel/ Powerpoint):
  • Experience in data handling & coding, e.g., SQL/ relational databases (Python advantages)
  • Interest in Tableau dashboard a plus
  • Critical skills: analytics, problem solving, stakeholder management, ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
