Morgan McKinley is working in partnership with a Global Bank who is well known for their top tier Corporate and Investment Banking services.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Provide solutions and add value to the Business by engaging in client and transaction discussions, conducting due diligence, offering clear guidance on policy and risk appetite, and influencing transaction structures and facility terms & conditions to mitigate risk.
  • Engage with the Business at an early stage on pipelines and potential transactions, formulating views and presenting these to credit senior management. Attend internal deal screening committees and effectively communicate credit views and challenges on proposals.
  • Present transactions concisely and clearly to senior Business and credit management, locally and overseas. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the client, transaction, and associated risks and mitigants. Provide well-articulated views on the bankability of clients and proposals, and when necessary, offer alternative solutions and risk mitigating strategies.
  • Evaluate credit applications, internal borrower ratings, and transaction proposals for new or existing corporate clients in APAC. Review transaction material and challenge assumptions and conclusions when appropriate.
  • Proactively track and monitor allocated portfolio, particularly Leveraged Finance accounts, from a counterparty, sector, and country perspective. Identify and escalate issues to internal stakeholders, collaborating with the Business to devise mitigating actions for material risk issues.
  • Support credit colleagues on corporate transactions and projects, fostering a strong team environment.
  • Provide guidance from a risk perspective to support new initiatives by the Business. Contribute to the development of credit and policy guidelines and actively participate in assigned projects, including change initiatives aimed at driving efficiencies.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders across divisions, building a network of trusted connections. Work closely with the Business, attending meetings on transactions to provide clear guidance and direction on risk appetite.
  • Actively participate in term sheet, loan documentation, ISDA/CSA reviews, and discussions with Business stakeholders. Influence credit terms when necessary, ensuring acceptability from both a risk and commercial standpoint.
Key Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7 years of corporate credit analysis and structuring experience within the banking/Big 4/advisory consultancy industry.
  • Strong product experience in the analysis and terms of traditional corporate lending and Leveraged Finance, including LBO/MBOs and structured transactions.
  • Experience in risk analysis and formulating recommendations on credit proposals across various client types, including corporates and private equity, across different sectors and countries in APAC.
  • A good understanding of different sector risk dynamics, drivers, and fundamentals, with the ability to apply this knowledge in analyzing counterparty success factors and business and financial risk.
  • A proven track record of working closely with business partners, building trust, and providing clear and early advice on risk appetite, due diligence requirements, and structuring. Demonstrated ability to find solutions to risk issues.
  • Track record of providing contributions beyond credit risk management, including credit portfolio reporting, deep dive analysis, policy contributions, special projects, and suggestions for process improvement, quality enhancement, and frameworks.
  • Strong academic record, with a graduate or postgraduate degree preferred.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to present information in a logical and structured manner.
