Business Function

Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank\'s operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

This role is to solution and design high performance database, non-Sql, persistent storage solution requirement by taking into account network latency, backup requirement, DC design for application system, and ensure resiliency and recovery within RTO and RPO for the databases, no-sql and persistent storage solution.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for architecting and reviewing database for on premise, private, public and hybrid cloud platforms.
• Responsible for the solution, design and propose the correct Database solution for the application solution. The database design should scalable, stable and extensible.
• Responsible for designing/developing/propose code framework/pattern for application reuse.
• Lead a team of expertise for the solution, design and implementation.
• Responsible to perform research, development and POC on new technologies and development approaches. Take part in evaluation of software package.
• Responsible for mentoring and training of application team. Maintenance of the solution, framework, document pertaining to usage of database, non-sql and persistent storage solution.
• Responsible for architecting database design with high availability, disaster recovery and replication topologies.
• Provide Architecture Design, review and guidance for Cloud Native application including monitoring, management, disaster recovery, security compliance/auditing, networking, storage, service brokers and build packs for the usage of database.
• Work with CES, customer Service Desk, Event Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management and Change Management Processes for all Cloud Services where applicable to improve the Cloud Native application delivery pertaining to Database, non-sql, and Persistent storage solution.
• Leverage on CES, EASRE, C2E DevOps Establish and maintain continuous delivery pipelines for deployment of related products infrastructure.
• Foster a culture of continuous process improvement.
• Continuously learn and be at the leading edge of Database, non-Sql, Persistent Storage solution and industry trends.
• Become an agent of change within organizations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• In-depth knowledge and experience in Cloud Native architecture, design, and implementation of critical applications. Prefer in the banking and finance environment with enterprise level implementation.
• In-depth experience with at least two database solution i.e., MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, Postgres, Neo4J etc.
• Ability to hand on to install, implemented, diagnose, optimise Database.
• Ability to write application access adapter for access of Database.
• Experience in the implementation of Enterprise class Database in Vmware, bare metal or public cloud with necessary backup.
• Expert knowledge of Linux / Unix / Windows systems / Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of impact networking and related technologies (e.g. load balancing / DNS / SSL / firewalls / NAT / NAS / SAN) to database usage, performance and resiliency.
• Experience with production systems and dealing with production issues.
• Experience with end-to-end configurations and technical dependencies.
• Familiarity with API, Cache and microservices.
• Experience with Legal, Regulatory requirements such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA, MAS 644, GDPR.
• Experience with Chef, Puppet, BOSH, or related automation / orchestration tools.
• Some experience working with NTP, SAML, oAuth 2, Active Directory.
• Experience with systems monitoring, alerting and analytics (Cloud watch, NewRelic, AppDynamics, Cacti, Graphite, Logstash, Nagios, Ganglia, Splunk, vROPS, Datadog, etc.).
• Need to be open-minded. Able to see high level vision and yet able to focus on the steps and details necessary to achieve the necessary goals.
• Creative and able to solve business problem using the right amount of software tool/solution.
• Proven track record of participating in the design and delivery of database solutions with infrastructure.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, Powerpoint and able to produce board-level documentation.
• May be required to travel to multiple locations.
• Strong experience in agile methodologies and test-driven development.
• Experienced in architecting and designing Cloud applications.
• Excellent knowledge and experience in design patterns.
• Certified and have experience with databases, non-sql and persistent storage solution.
